Between March and May 2012, Credit Action reported that 1,607 people were made redundant – an incredibly high number in a very short amount of time.
Average household unsecured debt (excluding mortgage) stood at £7,854 and a huge £174 million a day was paid on personal debt at the end of June 2012.
