Baines and Ernst have been named as a finalist in the widely recognised Insolvency and Rescue Awards which are due to take place on 10th October. The debt management firm are vying for a much-coveted award, as formal recognition of the quality of service they provide.
The awards are hosted by Insolvency Today magazine and have been running for five years. They are now widely regarded as an indicator of a quality provider. Baines and Ernst have previously held the honour of being shortlisted, as well as winning the title of Debt Management Provider of the Year during 2010.
In the 2012 award shortlist, Baines and Ernst have been announced as potential winners for Debt Management Team of the Year, a new category introduced this year for the first time. Baines and Ernst provide advice and assistance on Debt Relief Orders (DROs), a solution which can be used for debts which total less than £15,000, where the individual also has a low income. A viable alternative to bankruptcy in many cases, DROs are a relatively new debt solution, having only been introduced in 2009.
Baines and Ernst are one of just two companies across Britain which the Secretary of State has given the status of Competent Authority Status, with regards to providing DROs, a not for profit facility offered.
Many of those shortlisted are also members of DEMSA, the Debt Managers Standards Association and must adhere to a code of conduct which has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading. Baines and Ernst have been members of the organisation since 2009.
The finals of the Insolvency and Rescue Awards are due to be held on 10th October in London, where the shortlisted companies will find out the winner.
