It’s not every day you hear about a specialist debt company offering to pay off someone’s debts. So when Baines & Ernst – one of the country’s leading providers of debt help and advice – ran a Free Prize Draw offering to do just that, they certainly got a lot of attention!
After running for six weeks, the Free Prize Draw closed at midnight on July 3rd. And now that the winner has been formally notified, Baines & Ernst are pleased to announce that Maureen Harrison of Wolverhampton has won the very first Baines & Ernst Free Prize Draw!
The company decided to run a Free Prize Draw whereby the winner will have their unsecured debts paid off up to the value of £8,000 – a figure based on statistics released by the debt charity, Credit Action.
At the end of April, Credit Action reported that the average amount of debt per household in the UK (excluding mortgages) stood at £7,880. This is a substantial amount of money that is hanging over the heads of people who are trying to make ends meet every month; giving someone the chance to clear this amount of debt could be life changing.
The company was also keen to promote the types of solutions available to people who are struggling with debt and don’t know where to turn.
A spokesperson for Baines & Ernst said “We often speak to people who think Bankruptcy is their only way out of debt. We wanted to raise awareness about the solutions available and tell people they don’t have to take drastic measures to get out of debt.
“We’ve had a fantastic response from people over the last few weeks. We’d like to thank everyone who entered and extend our warmest congratulations to Maureen – the winner of our first Free Prize Draw.”
The company has also gone one step further and has published a free downloadable Guide To Debt Management Plans on their website which is packed full of helpful information which allows people to explore the options available to them.
They are also eager to spread the word about money management and regularly promote money saving help and advice tips on their website and Facebook page.
